Scanmatic delivers complete instrumentation for dam monitoring and dam safety. We install and integrate sensors for temperature in water, air and rock, pore pressure, water level, leakage, pendulum movement and accelerations – in addition to prisms on the dam wall and in the surroundings for precision measurement of movements in the structure and surrounding terrain.
The solutions are adapted to demanding conditions: sensor strings with ice protection can be installed at depth by divers, and all measurements are collected in real time, giving the dam owner a continuous overview of the dam’s condition and documentation that extended monitoring requirements are met.
One example of such a delivery is the instrumentation of Statkraft’s Alta dam – a 145-metre-high concrete dam completed in 1986 – where Scanmatic has delivered a comprehensive upgrade of the monitoring systems in cooperation with local contractors. Read more in the news article.
