Finally, it is time for full roll-out of the new rugged and waterproof IoT datalogger SM5038. Bjørn Birkeland and Simen Christoffer Andersen who are responsible for the embedded side SW and collection and configuration SW (H2) are very pleased with having finished the final development sprint before their summer holiday.
The first 2 batches are already on their way to customers NVE and Å Energi. They will be used in their water level and water flow measurement networks and measure primarily water pressure (level) and temperature though SDI-12 and analogue interfaces. Communication through on-board NB-IoT to H2 for both data collection and configuration.
The SM5038 is a rugged version of the well established SM5039 IoT datalogger that have been in the market for several years and proven versatility in applications within aqua culture, traffic, civil engineering, environmental monitoring and hydro power, to mention a few.
The SM5038 is fully submersible (IP67) and designed to survive flooding. It has plug connectors for easy installation and is designed for stand-alone mounting in harsh environments without extra cabinet. Brackets for wall, pole or pipe are available.
Further, the SM5038 shares the following key features with the mentioned SM5039:
- Fully integrated with the H2 data collection and configuration tool
- Replaceable built in battery with 5 – 10 years lifetime by typical operation
- Flexible I/O-config including DI, DO, AI, SDI-12, RS-232, RS-485
- On-board barometer for atm pressure comp (water level)
- On-board GNSS receiver
- BT for local configuration and calibration
- Non-volatile memory for consistent timeseries
