Two technology-driven companies are now joining forces with a shared ambition: To become the leading Nordic provider of critical and automated monitoring solutions for demanding environments.

– “Together, we are becoming a leading Nordic player in monitoring,” say Kim Steinsland, CEO of Scanmatic, and Atle Gerhardsen, CEO of Cautus Geo.

The merger follows the acquisition of Scanmatic by Norwegian private equity firm Equip Capital, through its holding company Measure IT AS, which already owns Cautus Geo.

Complementary Technologies – Common Vision

Scanmatic and Cautus Geo bring together deep expertise in instrumentation, control systems, and real-time monitoring. While Scanmatic is known for robust technology in harsh environments, Cautus Geo has built its reputation through advanced sensor networks and cloud-based monitoring platforms like Cautus Web.

– “We complement each other well,” says Gerhardsen.
– “Both companies have developed industry-leading technology for continuous, automated monitoring. Together, we gain greater capacity and broader solutions,” adds Steinsland.

Ready for Larger and More Complex Projects

With joint capabilities and resources, the companies are now better positioned to take on larger, more complex monitoring projects without relying on external subcontractors. This also strengthens their collective R&D efforts.

– “One plus one must be greater than two,” says Gerhardsen.
– “We aim to attract top talent and stay closely aligned with customer needs, while accelerating innovation.”

Backed by Strong Ownership

Equip Capital, founded in 2018, manages NOK 8.6 billion and invests in high-potential companies ready for transformational growth.

– “Our mission is to build better companies that contribute to a better society,” says Torkild Hebbert Haukaas, Partner at Equip Capital.
– “Cautus Geo and Scanmatic have skilled and passionate employees, and their technologies protect people and infrastructure from both natural and man-made hazards.”

Building the Future of Monitoring

With a strong shared foundation and a long-term ownership strategy, Scanmatic and Cautus Geo are now entering a new phase of development.

– “We will collaborate closely and offer the full spectrum of both companies’ services,” says Gerhardsen.
– “This gives us greater reach, deeper technical capabilities, and a unique position in the Nordic market,” Steinsland concludes.
