The station ensures reliable weather data throughout the championship.

For the 2025 Ski World Championships in Trondheim, Scanmatic has provided a multi-parameter weather station on the roof of the Health and Arena Building at Granåsen. The weather station has been delivered to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute in collaboration with Trondheim Municipality, contributing precise weather measurements for organizers and spectators during the championship.

“Usually, we deliver weather stations to far more challenging locations than this, but regardless of where we install them, we are committed to delivering high quality. For the customer, it is always crucial that everything works and that they can trust the data being collected,” says sales engineer Kjetil Sandnes.

Observant TV viewers following the broadcasts from the Ski World Championships might catch a glimpse of the weather station atop the building where the royal grandstand is located.

“A weather station from Scanmatic on the building with the royal grandstand feels a bit like putting the crown on top,” Sandnes says.

The weather station provides real-time data on temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed, and precipitation. It is also mobile, allowing it to be used for other purposes once the championship is over.
