Being a supplier to your national meteorological institute – or “the Met Office,” as it is known internationally – is one of the highest quality endorsements in our industry.
Scanmatic is proud to hold a framework agreement and to be a supplier to MET in Norway, SMHI in Sweden, and DMI in Denmark. In Norway, our collaboration dates back to the early 1990s, during which we have delivered most of the sensors, data loggers, and complete automatic weather stations that form part of the Meteorological Institute’s observation network. This means that most of the weather observations you see on Yr.no – or hear and see in the weather forecast – come from equipment supplied by Scanmatic.
All procurements are, of course, subject to strict regulations and governed by a framework agreement, typically renewed every four years. Public procurement is always an exciting process, and we take extra care to ensure our proposals meet all requirements.
We are therefore proud and pleased to announce that we were once again selected as the supplier delivering the most competitive overall offer when the framework agreement was tendered earlier this autumn.
The agreement is for two years, with options to extend twice for one year each, and has an estimated total value of NOK 50 million.
The photo shows MET’s Head of Department, Kjetil Stiansen, together with our Sales Manager, Marius Brenden, as they seal the framework agreement with a warm handshake.
We look forward to four more years of enjoyable and inspiring collaboration with our friends at MET!
