May 21–22 marked this year’s HydMet Conference – and what a conference it was!
With a new attendance record and representatives from 70% of Norwegian power production, along with several Swedish energy producers, NVE, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, and many of our skilled partners, it became two content-rich and inspiring days.
The topics ranged from product updates and flow measurement to winter operations, maintenance, and data collection. Among the presentations were:
- NVE’s project Torden
- Flow measurement using four different methods
- Status of instrumentation at the Alta Dam
- How to prevent ice formation on gates
- Operational reliability for wind turbines
- Efficient operation of small plants
- Standardisation of gate control
… and much more!
HydMet has established itself as an important arena for knowledge sharing in field instrumentation for hydrology and meteorology. While we at Scanmatic share our own experiences and product updates, the aim is for this to be an industry meeting point – not a sales conference. The feedback suggests we hit the mark again this year.
