Winter is coming!

Weather station on snowy mountain landscape under clear sky.

Did you know that Scanmatic AS has delivered the vast majority of the more than 400 road weather stations in Norway? The data from these stations is invaluable both for drivers and for those working with snow clearance and road maintenance, helping to make winter travel safer for everyone.

The road weather stations are built around Scanmatic’s own SM5059 data logger, and equipped with high-quality sensors from leading suppliers such as Ott, Vaisala, and RM Young. This ensures reliable and accurate data even under demanding Norwegian winter conditions.

Data from the entire network of stations is available to everyone here: Statens vegvesen – Road Weather Stations

Our work with road weather stations fits perfectly with our motto: “Technology for Harsh Environments.” Norwegian winters place high demands on both technology and reliability, and Scanmatic plays a key role in meeting those challenges.

We are proud that Statens Vegvesen has recently extended its framework agreement with Scanmatic – both for the delivery of new road weather stations and for support and spare parts . This ensures continued reliable data for road and traffic safety throughout the country.

Thanks to reliable road weather stations, both drivers and road maintenance crews can face the winter better prepared – and at Scanmatic, we are proud to contribute with technology that withstands the Norwegian climate!
