SMIoT SM5039 IoT Narrow Band Data logger

Scanmatic SM5039 is the latest lightweight data acquisition unit from Scanmatic, based on 50-year experience, combined with the latest technology, optimized for large scale Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Targeting low power, cost  effective, off-grid applications with limited infrastructure and delivered in a rugged mechanical enclosure for use in a harsh  outdoor environment. Supports simple, large scale, plug and play installation and commissioning.

SM5039 functionality:

  • Rugged 4G based
  • lightweight datalogger
  • Low power, for up to 10 years of battery operation
  • Small footprint
  • Plug & play installation
  • Internal GNSS supporting geofencing
  • Accelerometer and Inclinometer
  • Configuration and SW upgrade over the air
  • Internal barometer for absolute pressure sensors
  • H2 data hosting service

The SM5039 together with H2 acquisition system, is a complete system for remote supervision/ control and data acquisition. SM5039 is remotely configured by Scanmatic’s data acquisition system (H2), using the H2Config application. Local configuration and SW upgrades of the SM5039 can also done by H2Config application connected to USB console port. Offset adjustment for sensors during installation or calibration of measurements can be done locally or remotely. SM5039 communicates over 4G (NB-IoT) media.

A wide range of sensors from different vendors, using standard protocols like SDI-12 and Modbus RTU, are supported by SM5039. Analog sensors are supported using a flexible analog interface. Digital I/O, supporting frequency and pulse measurements, are also included. SM5039 measures instantaneous values and they are stored internally in buffer memory. The measurement values are transferred to the H2 system at regular intervals e.g. once every hour. Supports event-based sending of data to the H2 system and they can be further postprocessed by the H2 system (H2Calc).

Internal battery or external +12/24V DC is used to power SM5039. SM5039 are usually in hibernation and wakes up regularly to perform measurements and to communicate with H2. SM5039 may be awaken by external event e.g. by toggling a digital input
