Sonar3 is Scanmatic’s new generation of core technology for systems within underwater acoustics and sonar testing.
Based on Scanmatic’s extensive experience with underwater acoustic systems, Sonar3 was re-designed from the ground up with state-of-the-art electronics and robust software. The aim was to develop world-class technology for underwater acoustics and sonar testing. The core development took place in 2019/2020 and was carried out in collaboration with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), with support from Innovation Norway.
The first use of Sonar3 was in the new generation sonar test buoy (SONCAT), and Sonar3 has recently been deployed in the new generation Sonar Training Module (STM) and more. The platform will be at the heart of all future system deliveries within underwater acoustics.
